Longarone Football Heritage Showcase is an exhibition dedicated to celebrating the history, culture, and evolution of Italian football through iconic kits, memorabilia, and stories from clubs across Italy and the Italian community worldwide.
The project itself was conceived by the students of the lower secondary school “Pietro Gonzaga” of the Longarone Comprehensive Institute, who discovered a striking historical coincidence.
On the night of 9 October 1963 at 22:39, while the devastating wave of mud and water from Monte Toc was destroying the valley of Longarone, a historic European Cup match was being played in Madrid between Real Madrid and Glasgow Rangers.
This parallel between tragedy and football history inspired the students to create an exhibition that honours memory, identity, and the cultural significance of the sport.
The inclusion of the Italia Estero FC jersey in the showcase highlights the club’s growing role as an ambassador of Italian football abroad. Designed with a modern identity and inspired by the colours of Italian tradition, the jersey represents the mission of the club to unite passion, culture, and sporting values beyond national borders.
“Seeing our jersey exhibited in Longarone is a moment of great pride. It represents the journey, the identity, and the commitment of our entire community,” said Giovanni, founder of Italia Estero FC.
The Longarone exhibition attracted football enthusiasts, collectors, and institutions, offering a unique platform to honour clubs that carry Italian heritage across the world. Italia Estero FC’s presence reinforces its role in promoting cultural connection, sporting excellence, and a sense of belonging for Italians living abroad.
